How I Love Me Some Installations
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you've probably noticed the influx in installation photography I've been sharing as of late. Why do I love it so much? Cause for me, art really does make the space! It can change the room, and truly show how the art was meant to be represented.
Yes, a million angle shots in a studio is great. BUT there is something truly special about seeing art in the space the artist envisions it, or better yet, where it ACTUALLY ends up.
That can be a downside of parting with pieces, the artist doesn't always get to see the final installation. The final surrounding area where a piece of them is forever on display. From time to time a client will
send me an email or text message with their painting or sculpture where they've envisioned it when they've come to me about a commission, or seen it on the site. But most of the time, I don't get to see that. A lot of artists don't.
For that reason, I enjoy the random installation shot. Whether it is my dream installation, or one a past client has shared with me.
By the way, if you are NOT Photoshop savvy, OR just don't have the time, there are some GREAT apps that allow you to upload your artwork into spaces! My personal fav is @ArtRooms
